We are recruiting an experienced Field Service Breakdown Engineer for a well-established industrial engineering company based in Rushden. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated engineer to join a growing business offering a permanent position within a varied industrial maintenance and breakdown environment. Salary £35,000 – £48,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend customer sites to carry out electrical breakdown repairs, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Diagnose faults using electrical drawings and fault-finding techniques.
  • Work on a wide range of industrial machinery including compactors, balers, shredders, printing presses, extruders, and automated systems.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance work efficiently and safely.
  • Provide excellent customer service while representing the business on-site.
  • Work independently to identify issues and restore machinery operation.
  • Support preventative maintenance and servicing activities across multiple industries.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an industrial maintenance or breakdown engineering environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Relevant City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Maintenance Engineering.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
