We are recruiting an experienced Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver for a well-established manufacturing business based in Oakham. The company is a world leader in the production of synchronous alternators and is looking to strengthen its warehouse team with a reliable and skilled operator working on a 08:00–16:30 shift. THIS IS A PERMANENT ROLE.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver components and parts to production assembly lines
- Load and unload lorries safely and efficiently
- Prepare, pick, and pack customer orders for despatch
- Support goods-in and despatch processes, including system updates
- Assist with stock control, inventory management, and location accuracy
- Maintain correct and safe storage of goods, ensuring SWL compliance
- Use warehouse systems (e.g. SAP or similar WMS) for stock updates and administration
- Identify and report warehouse process issues, suggesting improvements
- Provide flexible support across all warehouse functions as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Requirements
- Valid ITSSAR-accredited Reach Truck licence (essential)
- Valid Counterbalance forklift licence (essential)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in warehouse operations and stock control
- Experience using SAP or similar warehouse management systems (desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work at pace in a busy manufacturing environment
- Flexible and willing to support occasional overtime/weekend work if required
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
Hours
08:00 – 16:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch break) Monday to Friday
Pay Rate
£28,080 per annum
