ECHO Personnel is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our client’s busy manufacturing team in Corby. Our client is a well-established manufacturer of conveyor and material handling equipment, supplying high-quality mechanical solutions to distribution and logistics operations across the UK and internationally.

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour

Working Hours: Day Shift, Monday to Friday

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble telescopic boom conveyor units in line with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Install and align motors, gearboxes, drive systems, rollers, and associated mechanical components
  • Test boom sections to ensure smooth extension, retraction, and safe mechanical operation
  • Carry out mechanical adjustments and fault finding during build and testing stages
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively
  • Complete quality checks and ensure all work meets company standards and Health & Safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components and drive systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good level of spoken and written English
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures
