We are looking for a skilled or semi-skilled Grinding Machine Operator to join one of our client's manufacturing team in Corby. This role involves setting up and operating manual surface grinding machines, including Jones & Shipman and similar equipment, to produce high‑quality, precision components. This is a great opportunity for someone with machining experience who is looking to develop their skills further within a hands‑on manufacturing environment. Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Pay: £14.50 – £16.50 per hour
Shifts: Monday – Thursday 8 – 5, Friday 8am – 1pm
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual surface grinding machines (Jones & Shipman or similar)
- Produce precision components to tight tolerances and specifications
- Read and follow basic engineering instructions and job requirements
- Carry out in‑process and final quality checks using measuring tools
- Ensure machines are operated safely and efficiently at all times
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment in line with health and safety standards
- Report any machine faults, defects, or production issues
- Support general workshop and production activities as required
