Echo House is a market leader specialising in Project Management, Creative & Technical Design, Artworking, Digital Content, Print, Experiential Brand Activation, and Sustainable Creative Production.
The design team is at the heart of Echo House. The Technical Designer role involves collaborating closely with cross functional teams, interpreting design concepts and assisting with the transition of works into realisation. You will be responsible for building and outputting technical drawings with accurate specifications and to the Echo House standards ensuring they are clinical and clear, facilitating a seamless flow of works through our production line. The role includes attending site on occasion to conduct surveys, and provide assistance with installation. The nature of our industry is that working ad hoc additional hours, or out of normal working hours, can be expected as a normal function of this role. Time in lieu will be provided for this. Core Knowledge Base
- Excellent Solidworks, CAD, Fusion 360, Adobe Creative Suite knowledge.
- Knowledge of 3D print, rendering in Cinema 4D or Keyshot (Desirable).
- Excellent tool and machining knowledge.
- Excellent electrical and electronics knowledge (Desirable).
- Excellent understanding in deciphering technical packs submitted from external sources.
- Excellent Health and Safety knowledge.
- Knowledge of media with an emphasis on sustainability.
Core Areas Of Responsibility
- To study, research and develop conceptual ideas through to technical detail and presentation.
- Aligning with the project management, artworking and design managers and the fabrication department as a whole, to modify existing work and processes in order to increase efficiency and improve performance to customer satisfaction and to agreed timescales.
- To oversee prototyping and manage production of live projects.
- Project management.
- Resolving customer issues to their satisfaction.
- Ensuring Health and Safety policies are followed.
Main Duties
- Manage allocated design projects from CAD build, presentation, through to realisation.
- To communicate closely with the assistant studio manager design lead and the artworking and design manager, process, procurement, and ideas.
- To create CAD models from client brief.
- Produce technical drawings from buildable CAD models.
- Successfully communicate technical designs through presentation to both Project Managers, clients and to the wider team as a whole.
- To be willing to carry out site surveys and assist on installs.
- Filling in for absent employees as needed to ensure smooth operation of the business.
- Motivating employees to perform well.
- Follow and promote to colleagues, visitors, and the public all health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Follow Echo sustainability policies and procedures. Promote sustainable operations to colleagues.
