Echelon Engineers is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing processes across fabrication and assembly operations.
The Role: You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure on-time delivery, quality standards, and efficiency targets are achieved while maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow and execute contract requirements in line with Master Production Schedules
- Instruct production supervisors and employees to ensure optimum workforce planning
- Minimise production constraints through effective scheduling of resources and deployment
- Generate and release Production Works Orders using MRP and CRP systems
- Coordinate with stores teams to collate scheduled work into component kits and sub-assemblies
- Work with purchasing departments to progress orders and ensure on-time delivery
- Manage shop floor data capture systems and ensure accurate time booking to contracts
- Approve overtime and collation of additional working hours
- Ensure works orders are completed with accurate labour booking and material allocation
- Conduct quality inspections and resolve manufacturing non-conformances
- Generate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for manufacturing processes
- Lead production meetings focusing on delivery performance
- Create a culture of continuous improvement and team collaboration
Requirements:
- Proven experience in production management within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of MRP and CRP systems
- Excellent scheduling and planning capabilities
- Leadership experience with production teams
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety standards
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
