Echelon Engineers is working exclusively with a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing business in Lincolnshire to appoint a Production & Manufacturing Engineer at management level. Our client is a specialist manufacturer with over 40 years of heritage, operating as part of a wider privately owned group of 12-13 industrial companies across the UK and Europe. The business has significantly grown output in recent years and is now expanding into three new product lines alongside its core manufacturing operation - representing a major step-change in the scale and complexity of what they produce.

You will have a dual remit: improving efficiency on existing production processes and taking a leading role in specifying and overseeing new manufacturing lines for the new product streams. This hire sits at management level within a leadership team of six, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Proven background in production or manufacturing engineering
  • Hands-on experience improving production line efficiency and specifying new manufacturing processes
  • Practical, factory-floor approach alongside the ability to operate at management level
  • Strong project management capability - comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Excellent communication skills - able to engage at board level and with shop floor teams
  • Commercially aware, with experience contributing to capex planning and supplier negotiations

Desirable:

  • Experience in timber processing, agricultural machinery, FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar process-driven environment
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement qualification
  • Experience in a growing SME or turnaround environment
