What You Will Do
- Prepare regular monthly and ad-hoc journal entries for responsible business units to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements
- Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Assist in reviewing significant variances from budget to actual
- Prepare and file quarterly regulatory reporting requirements, as necessary
- Assist in certain special projects as part of the Company's continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform monthly and ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support Finance Management and other departments
- Support the annual and interim external audit and review process
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Accounting)
- Pursuing CPA designation is considered an asset
- 3-5 years of significant accounting experience
- Proficient in IFRS Accounting standards. Insurance accounting and IFRS 17 experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting systems and experience with SAP is an asset
- Detail-oriented approach with demonstrated analytical skills
- Assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet multiple tight deadlines
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
