An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Moving & Handling Trainer to join ECG Healthcare Group.
We consider ourselves to be a fun, dynamic and passionate team. Working closely together to ensure our clients receive the best training, clinical services, and support possible, to enhance patient care. Within ECG we have four divisions: Training, Clinical Services, Professional Support, and MakeWell.
We are looking for experienced clinicians to join our training division as Freelance Trainers to support a variety of programmes. We deliver training to healthcare professionals across various fields including pharmacy, the NHS, private healthcare, and primary care.
At present, we are working with various organisations, and this is an area that we have seen a great deal of interest in providing Moving and Handling Training. The purpose of the job is to actively promote the prevention/reduction of harm from manual and patient handling injuries in the workplace.
We are committed to becoming net zero by 2050 in line with UK government targets and commit to whenever possible use resources based in areas of work and as close to venues as we can, reducing the use of car traffic. It is important that we keep travelling down while delivering our high standard services and being accessible for our clientβs requirements.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality Moving and Handling skills and training and will be expected to promote and advise on safe evidence-based practice. This training must lead to a Moving and Handling Level 2 qualification. They will facilitate and evaluate the effectiveness of all aspects of training in manual and patient handling with training in the use of various pieces of equipment to ensure that all staff are trained to an appropriate level and meet mandatory training requirements.
Ideally, you will hold a Moving and Handling Train the Trainer Certification and have a passion for training. Training and support will be available by our dedicated clinical development team with our generous CPD programme to help further your career.
Travel mileage allowance is included and accommodation is provided when required.
A driving license is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Moving and Handling Training
- Engage and update yourself with National Policies and guidance to promote musculoskeletal health acting as a role model
- Develop effective working relationships with all Clients to provide training advice and support
- Provide practice-based training for teams according to specific requirements
- Independently undertake risk assessments which may include staff, equipment, or working areas
- Complete accurate training records (audit of training) delivered to support the monitoring and compliance across this mandatory topic
Person Specifications
- You must have experience within a physio setting and sound knowledge of moving & handling techniques
- Ability to use problem-solving approaches to create learning environments that candidates can achieve their learning objectives
- Ability to present feedback to team leaders in relation to concerns regarding their workforce that attend training so that appropriate action can be taken to mitigate risks
- Contribute to health promotion for back care and injury prevention using a wide range of communications
- Maintain own skills and knowledge by keeping up to date with new local and national updates and by attendance of train the trainer update programs
- Always promote a positive and professional image by acting in a courteous manner.
- You must be eligible to work in the UK and have applicable documentation to support; this can include right to work share codes.
- Our rates of pay are competitive with mileage expenses and overnight accommodation is provided where necessary.
