Sole gardener (Live out) – Vacancy in Oxfordshire

An excellent opportunity has arisen on a stunning privately owned property for an experienced Sole Gardener on a full-time basis. This vacancy would suit a well-rounded, proactive and motivated gardener with the ability to manage their own time efficiently.

Located near Chipping Norton, the property is set within an expansive area of mature woodland of over 100 acres. The house is surrounded by recently created formal gardens of approximately 1.5 acres and comprising expansive lawns, terraced areas with mixed borders and planters with seasonal displays, a swimming pool, and a variety of mature and young trees.

The Sole Gardener will be responsible for the full maintenance and care of the property’s outdoor spaces, ensuring that gardens, lawns, and grounds are kept in excellent condition year-round. This role involves a wide range of tasks including planting, pruning, weeding, lawn care, pest control, hedge cutting and seasonal garden planning. Additional non horticultural duties may be required such as security and the alarms, keeping the terrace clean and swept, clearing the gutters and overseeing contractors.

Working independently, the Sole Gardener must be skilled, self-motivated, and organised, with good knowledge of horticulture and an eye for detail to uphold the aesthetic and health of the garden and grounds. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence due to the rural location of the property. References and DBS check will be requested at offer stage.

SALARY: £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
