A wonderful opportunity has arisen for passionate gardener to join a beautiful private property, on a part-time (2 days/week) basis near Bordon, Hampshire. This vacancy is open to self-employed Gardeners in the locality looking for an opportunity to grow as a horticulturalist and develop their skills on a beautiful and diverse private garden. An hourly rate will be paid in line with the successful candidate’s experience.
The recently redeveloped 10-acre gardens offer a rich and varied landscape, thoughtfully designed to delight throughout the seasons. At their heart is the property surrounded by a large walled garden, a flourishing orchard, various rose varieties, expansive lawns, and meticulously curated mixed beds and borders. A tranquil pond adds a serene focal point.
The successful candidate will work closely with a part-time Experienced Gardener, and duties will include both the finer horticultural aspects such as pruning, weeding, planting, training, growing, and propagation, as well as the general maintenance such as the mowing, pest and disease control and hedge cutting, ensuring the grounds and gardens are consistently well presented. The role requires good communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to work in a collaborative and productive working relationship.
The ideal candidate will have a base knowledge of gardening with the willingness to expand on their skillset and horticultural knowledge including obtaining tickets such as PA1/PA6 which will be supported by the client. Applicants must be passionate about gardening and enjoy working to a high standard. Physical fitness and energy are essential as this is a hands-on role.
