Head Gardener β Vacancy
We are seeking a highly experienced and versatile head gardener to join our team. This role entails collaborating with a garden and grounds team on a private estate situated east of Cirencester, working five days a week. The current garden is situated within the grounds of a picturesque manor house and encompasses formal lawns, herbaceous and shrub borders, a walled garden with a greenhouse, wildflower meadows, an informal mowed park featuring specimen trees, and a mixed woodland.
Responsibilities:
β Maintain the gardens and grounds, performing a diverse range of tasks, including planting, propagating, weeding, pruning, deadheading, mowing, hedge cutting, mulching, scarifying, spraying, and strimming.
β Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of plant and species knowledge.
β Possess sound practical gardening and horticultural experience.
β Exhibit strong teamwork skills while simultaneously maintaining sufficient self-motivation to work independently as experience accrues.
β Adhere to the principles of Health and Safety compliance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
β Operate machinery and equipment with proficiency and safety awareness.
β Hold a full and clean driving license.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all aspects of gardening and lawncare, possessing a keen eye for detail and a meticulous approach to maintaining high standards. They will take pride in their work, demonstrate reliability, and work with complete discretion.
