A friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Groundsperson is sought to maintain the gardens and grounds of a residential park home estate in a sole capacity on a permanent, full‑time basis at near Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining attractive, well‑presented grounds to a high standard. Set within peaceful surroundings, the park features landscaped communal gardens, mature trees, ornamental shrubs, hedging, well‑kept lawns, seasonal planting, and attractive park homes, all maintained to an exceptionally high standard. The grounds also include welcoming entrance features, pathways, communal spaces, and show homes, creating an attractive environment for residents and visitors alike.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks such as grass mowing, strimming, hedge cutting using both mechanical and hand‑operated equipment, pruning shrubs, mulching, watering, weeding, edging, leaf collection, digging and preparing beds and borders, planting new trees, shrubs, and seasonal displays, and applying fertilisers where appropriate.
- Maintain fences, carry out pressure washing to external areas, and ensure that the overall appearance of the park is maintained to an exceptional standard at all times.
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the park’s show homes, ensuring they are presented to the highest standards for visitors and prospective customers.
- Liaise with on‑site contractors and supervise work where necessary to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in horticulture, gardening, landscaping, grounds maintenance, estate maintenance, or a similar outdoor role would be advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to other company sites if required.
- Physical fitness, strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and health and safety.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; practical, positive, dependable, and flexible with a willingness to adapt to changing demands.
Working hours are 8 am to 4 pm. This role requires someone with a flexible approach to work, particularly during busy seasonal periods and open days, when additional support may be needed. Above all, a positive can‑do attitude, commitment to delivering excellent standards, and enjoyment of working as part of a professional and supportive team are essential.
SALARY: up to £33,000 DOE
