The owners of an incredible Grade II listed private property in the Tetbury area of Gloucestershire are seeking a knowledgeable and hands‑on Part‑Time Gardener for 1–2 days per week, to support the ongoing development and maintenance of a recently redesigned garden. This is an exciting opportunity to become involved at a formative stage of a significant garden project, working alongside an established garden designer and experienced landscaping contractor.

Set within a wider seven‑acre property, the one acre of managed garden is being thoughtfully redeveloped to include structured planting schemes, new topiary and hedging, mixed shrub borders, a pond area, and a developing kitchen garden. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting with the implementation of planting plans, establishing new areas, and ensuring the garden matures in line with the overall vision.

This position is focused on the finer horticultural aspects of the garden, including border development, plant care, and bringing on the vegetable garden, rather than general maintenance tasks such as mowing or hedge cutting, which are already supported by another gardener.

The role will require someone who is confident working collaboratively, including liaising with the garden designer and contractor during the remaining project phase, and thereafter working independently to maintain and develop the garden. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, self‑motivated gardener with strong plant knowledge and a genuine passion for horticulture.

A proactive and methodical approach is essential, along with the ability to take ownership of the role and work without close supervision. Equally important is a collaborative and supportive attitude, as the successful applicant will be expected to work alongside and help guide the gardener / groundsperson already employed on site.

The position is offered on a self‑employed basis, initially for one day per week, with the potential to increase to two days during the spring/summer season, depending on the needs of the garden. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled gardener seeking a long‑term, part‑time position within a friendly and relaxed private household, where there is genuine scope to make a meaningful contribution and take pride in the ongoing development of a well‑considered garden.
