Gardener required for a private estate in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.

The owners of a private estate in Knaresborough seek a dedicated Gardener to support the Head Gardener in the day to day care and maintenance of the estate\'s gardens and grounds.

The role is ideally suited to a newly qualified enthusiastic gardener or someone at the early stages of their career. The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of horticultural care, excellent attention to detail and willingness to work collaboratively in a small team.

The responsibilities will include all aspects of grounds and garden maintenance, assisting the upkeep of formal and informal areas and contributing to the overall presentation and care of the estate.

The established estate includes formal and informal lawns and beds, kitchen garden with fruit cage, orchard, wildflower meadow and pond/water features. The role will include planting, weeding, pruning, pest control, grass cutting etc. There will be a need to use, and safely clean and store garden equipment, health and safety measures will be adhered to. It is essential that the successful candidate work closely with the Head Gardener taking and following instruction carefully, demonstrating a willingness to develop and learn within the role.

Formal training is required to RHS 2 or similar. An enthusiastic, hardworking (with willingness to work manually in all weather conditions where required) individual who is professional, respectful and discreet, whom will have an opportunity to be mentored from more experienced staff members.

Salary: upto £25k depending on experience

Hours: Full time 40 Hours a week

Annual Leave: 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
