An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and versatile Estate Maintenance Technician to join the team responsible for the maintenance of a distinguished private estate. The position calls for a proactive and capable individual who will ensure the seamless day-to-day running of the property and uphold the highest standards of presentation and functionality. This is a hands-on role within a high-value residential setting, requiring a practical, solutions-oriented approach and strong attention to detail.
The successful candidate will carry out a broad range of internal and external maintenance duties, including basic plumbing, electrical tasks, painting, and carpentry. In addition, they will undertake cleaning and upkeep of outdoor areas, including jet washing and general maintenance of pathways and surrounding grounds. Basic gardening tasks such as lawn mowing will also be required, undertaken under the direction of the Head Gardener.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience as a Maintenance/ Handyperson, preferably within a high-end residential setting or a comparable environment. They will exhibit exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to upholding the highest standards of maintenance and presentation. Key responsibilities will include conducting regular inspections of the property to identify and address any maintenance issues, responding promptly and efficiently to requests from the Estate Manager and other authorised personnel, and managing workload effectively to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks appropriately.
The successful candidate will also liaise with external contractors and service providers, as directed by the Estate Manager, ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard. This includes scheduling routine service visits and overseeing tasks related to fire and intruder alarm systems. In addition, the role will involve sourcing and procuring materials as required, as well as taking full ownership of issues as they arise—demonstrating initiative, sound judgement, and resourcefulness in resolving them.
Applicants must have a proven background in property maintenance and demonstrate strong practical skills across a range of trades. Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to manage and prioritise tasks effectively are essential. The role demands an individual with outstanding communication skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively with household staff and external contacts. Discretion, reliability, and a flexible attitude are fundamental to success in this position. A full UK driving licence is required.
This is a full-time position with the working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The position is available for an immediate start.
