An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Experienced Gardener to join a dedicated and motivated team maintaining the stunning formal gardens of a prestigious family-owned estate. The estate features beautifully designed landscapes, including intricate topiary, flourishing rose gardens, and vibrant herbaceous borders. Newly developed landscapes are also part of the estate, offering an exciting chance to contribute to their ongoing care and refinement.

You will play a key role in ensuring the estate’s gardens are presented to the highest standard throughout the year, working with a team that shares your passion for horticulture. This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining specialist machinery, including ride-on mowers, strimmers, blowers, and hedge cutters, while ensuring all tools remain in excellent condition. Managing and maintaining the estate’s irrigation systems will be essential in supporting the health and vitality of its stunning plant collections and immaculate lawns.

You will also contribute to the care and refinement of newly developed garden areas, applying your expertise to shape and enhance these evolving landscapes. Collaboration with estate managers and external contractors will be key to ensuring the smooth running of all horticultural operations, making this an exciting and dynamic role for an experienced professional.

Candidates must have an in-depth understanding of estate gardening, with a strong background in formal settings and a recognised horticultural qualification. PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates are essential, along with hands-on experience in managing irrigation systems to support the estate’s diverse plant collections. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with a proactive and positive approach, bringing an organised and methodical mindset to their work.

This is a full-time position, with working hours from 08:00 to 16:00. The role involves a five-day working week, which may include weekends as part of a rota. The salary offered is up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, with a discretionary annual bonus following a successful probationary period.

An enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by the employer, and the signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement are required as part of the employment terms.
