Seasonal Gardener β Vacancy (Live In or Live Out). Penninghame House is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Seasonal Gardener to support the Head Gardener in the ongoing development and maintenance of the historic walled garden and greenhouses. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a genuine interest in horticulture who enjoys working as part of a small team in a beautiful historic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the maintenance and development of the walled garden
- Working in and caring for the greenhouses, including propagation and plant care
- General garden maintenance: planting, weeding, pruning, and lawn care
- Supporting seasonal tasks as directed by the Head Gardener
Essential Skills & Experience
- Practical gardening experience (professional or strong amateur)
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good attention to detail and pride in high standards
Desirable
- Horticultural qualification or training
- Interest in historic gardens and traditional gardening techniques
Contract Details
- Season: March to end of September
- Pay: Β£26,250 per annum pro rata
- Hours: To be agreed
- Accommodation: On-site accommodation can be provided if required
