Purpose of the role

The Mechanical fitter/Heating engineer primary responsibility will be working as part of a team of in-house fitters installing various mechanical systems including full plantroom fit outs and various minor works.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installation of commercial heating, plumbing and chilled water systems
  • Understanding of the working and operation of plumbing and heating systems
  • Working off own initiative/Running own jobs as part of a small team
  • Experience working on steam systems advantageous but not essential
  • Fitting types worked with - Press fit, Victaulic, Screwed, Brazed, Soldered, Welded, etc.
  • Materials worked with - MI Steel, Stainless steel, Galvanised steel, Copper etc.

Relevant Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Heating & Ventilation
  • Proven experience in Plantroom and Boilerhouse installations
  • Gas qualifications advantageous – Testing & Purging
  • Welding – Arc & Gas welding
