The Opportunity: Project Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Project Engineer to join our team, playing a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across New Product Development, Custom Solutions, Buyout items, and Supply Chain initiatives. Working closely with cross-functional and global teams, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, enjoys balancing technical detail with project management, and takes a proactive, solutions-focused approach to driving projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Lead and coordinate assigned projects from initiation through launch.
    • Define project scopes, goals, deliverables, resource needs, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with Engineering and key stakeholders.
    • Track and manage project tasks and engineering deliverables using Jira.
    • Execute projects in alignment with the company’s phase-gate process.
    • Document and archive project deliverables according to standards.
  • Technical & Engineering Support
    • Maintain Bills of Materials and engineering documentation.
    • Provide technical support for product requirements and serve as the primary link between Sales/Customers and Engineering across Europe and USA.
    • Support component, subassembly, and finished good sourcing initiatives with global suppliers.
  • Product Strategy & Lifecycle
    • Support new product launches and go-to-market strategy in coordination with Sales and other functional groups.
    • Identify opportunities for product improvements, portfolio expansion, or SKU consolidation in collaboration with Supply Chain.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Ensure clear, consistent communication with all functional teams.
    • Lead or influence cross-functional groups to achieve project deliverables and strategic objectives.

Skills & Experience

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical/project management experience.
    • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to present effectively at all levels.
    • Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural teams.
    • Strong organizational skills with both strategic and tactical thinking.
    • Working knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
    • Innovative thinker with strong attention to detail and customer-focused mindset.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
    • High energy, proactive, and able to lead by example.
    • Willingness to travel.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with regulatory standards (UL, SAE, ECE, EC, or similar).
    • Experience managing projects in an Agile environment (Jira preferred).
