About the role
Lloyd Whyte, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Deputy Schemes Manager to join our SEIB team in their South Ockendon office. As a Deputy Schemes Manager you will work closely with the Schemes Manager to support the development, performance, and governance of our schemes portfolio across markets such as charities, equestrian, funeral directors, motor trade, private hire and property owners. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to underwriting authority, insurer partnerships, product governance, and strategic scheme development, with a clear pathway for progression.

What you’ll be doing
- Support the ongoing oversight and performance of all delegated schemes.
- Assist with regular scheme reviews, data insights, and remedial action planning.
- Ensure pricing, underwriting criteria, and product information remain current and aligned with strategy.
- Support the continuous improvement of existing schemes and the development of new propositions.
- Support adherence to FCA requirements including ICOBS, PROD, and Consumer Duty.
What you’ll need to have
- Confident and capable of building rapport over the telephone to provide excellent client experience.
- Experience within consumer or commercial insurance, preferably within a broker environment.
- Ambitious with aspirations to take on greater responsibility and progress into scheme leadership.
- Driven to be proactive to new challenges and positively shape the desired opportunities and outcomes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others whilst working closely and flexibly.
What makes you stand out
- Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate (or actively working towards it).
- Knowledge of one or more of the sectors detailed in the Key Purpose for this role.
