About the role
Lloyd & Whyte, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Client Director to join our Direct Corporate Risks team. The team are looking for an experienced and talented Client Director to manage an existing book of business, as well as to identify, attract and retain new clients in our core target industries, predominantly within the Waste, Construction or Haulage and Logistics sector. Expertise and demonstrable success in this sector is desired but not essential. You will deliver an exceptional service experience to our client base, with a focus on expertise and excellence in the provision of market leading products. Key responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive Commercial insurance service to existing and potential new customers.
- Develop a significant level of technical and industry expertise within our chosen sectors, and utilise this expertise when creating product propositions for our target clients.
- Provide market leading risk management services, particularly with regards to motor fleet risks.
- In conjunction with your direct report, prepare and agree monthly and annual sales forecasts, targets, plans and budgets for your respective sales area.
- Be responsible for achievement of all sales forecasts, plans, programmes and budgets in your respective sales area.
- Monitor performance against objectives, forecasts, plans, targets and budgets and provide regular feedback to the Sales Director.
- Identify and generate own leads via LinkedIn, cold calling, introducers, partnerships. The business shall also provide leads to you to supplement your own activities.
- Work closely with the Account Handling and claims teams, ensuring the very highest level of service and excellence at all times.
- Identify, recommend and agree corrective action with the Sales Director as appropriate, where deviations in performance below plans occur, or where other problems arise affecting sales or customer satisfaction.
- Promote and maintain an internal and external brand of professionalism, expertise and excellence.
- Assist with marketing efforts including the provision of content, attendance at industry events and other activities as may be required from time to time.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- The principles, practices and legalities of Commercial Insurance, particularly Motor Fleet, Liability, Combined and Freight Liability insurances.
- Extensive experience in The UK Commercial Insurance market, in respect of Commercial insurances.
- Risk assessment in major Commercial classes of insurance, including Fire and Perils, Business Interruption, Liability and Motor Fleet.
- Industrial processes, security requirements, Health & Safety legislation and risk management techniques.
- The specific trade/industry sector(s) for which you have been targeted to develop.
- FSA Regulations for dealing with Commercial Customers.
- Report writing and presentation techniques.
- Sales techniques and methods.
- Budget assessing methods and requirements.
- Cert CII is desirable.
