ECC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Environmental to join our Environmental group. The position involves working on project sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., with the work location flexible. Candidates should be near our Abingdon, MD office or in the Mid-Atlantic area, and must be able to travel as needed. The role is primarily responsible for assisting in managing project activities to ensure goals are achieved within set time frames and budgets.
Candidates should have experience with performance-based project management, including scope, schedule, and budget management, risk mitigation, and risk/reward analysis. Experience with CERCLA and RCRA is required, supporting environmental remediation and performance-based programs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Project Manager in planning and coordinating project activities to meet objectives within time and budget constraints.
- Review project proposals and plans, determine resource allocation, and establish work and staffing plans.
- Coordinate with project staff and subcontractors, assign duties, and oversee progress.
- Review status reports, prepare management and client reports, and resolve technical issues.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and manage supervisory responsibilities according to organizational policies and laws.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, perform schedule updates, and prepare look-ahead schedules.
- Document physical percent complete, develop schedules for long-lead materials, and prepare reports for client invoicing.
- Conduct schedule projections, critical path analysis, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate with project accounting on budgets, forecasts, and invoice review.
- Perform other assigned responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables as needed.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and manuals.
- Effective presentation and communication skills.
- Experience with cost tracking and accounting systems like EZ TRAC and Cost Point.
- Problem-solving skills, technical comprehension, and program implementation ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, Windows, Primavera, and Microsoft Project.
- At least three years of experience in scheduling and project planning for large environmental projects.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws applicable to the region.
- Experience with CERCLA and RCRA.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, or science.
- Master's degree (preferred).
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training, supervisory and annual refreshers.
- Experience with contaminant characterization and cleanup technologies.
- Experience with cost tracking and accounting systems.
- Professional Engineer or Environmental Professional certification.
- Experience in HTRW remedial action or hazardous waste industry.
The targeted salary range is $63,242 to $101,661, influenced by education, experience, and location.
