Are you a detail-driven engineering professional with a passion for delivering high-quality work on complex construction projects? ECC Group is growing rapidly in the UK and Europe, and we’re looking for an experienced Site Surveying Engineer to join our team on live projects in London. This position is focused on setting out, quality inspections, and progress capture for installations across Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) and Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) disciplines.

About the Role

As a Setting Out Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring installation accuracy, maintaining project quality standards, and supporting our delivery teams with up-to-date site surveys and reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with contractors and the ECC team to help drive successful outcomes on high-spec mission-critical infrastructure projects, including data centres and advanced industrial builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate setting out and site measurements using Robotic Total Station and other surveying instruments
  • Manage and maintain on-site control networks
  • Conduct daily inspections to verify installations against project drawings and specifications
  • Prepare and deliver inspection reports, progress updates, and issue logs
  • Collaborate with site management and subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination
  • Ensure documentation and reports are aligned with project milestones and quality benchmarks
  • Support ongoing QA/QC processes and assist with snagging and handover stages

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Civil Engineering degree or related discipline
  • Preferably with some proven experience in setting out or as a site engineer
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Proficient in the use of GPS, robotic total station and levelling equipment is preferred and exposure to 3D laser scanning is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of Autocad, Revit, Microsoft Excel, Word etc.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
