Our client is a leading Secondaries fund specializing in secondary transactions in Private Equity and Private Credit through both closed-end and open-ended funds. They focus on delivering value through disciplined investment strategies, leveraging deep market knowledge, and innovative solutions. As a rapidly growing firm, they are looking to expand their team with dynamic and motivated professionals to help drive their continued success.
As a VP in our client’s growing Product & Origination team, you will be responsible for supporting commercial strategy, product formation & client engagement initiatives. This involves leading the product launch(es) and lifecycle management of new/existing flagship and private wealth funds.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing a deep understanding of our product suite and that of competitors.
- Leading development of marketing content and defining strategic direction for products.
- Developing strategic proposals for clients investing via SMAs/Feeders.
- Coordinating closely with investment team, service providers, and internal stakeholders such as legal, risk management, operations, compliance, controllers, and tax to effectively manage the product lifecycle.
- Leading and directing distributor and platform onboarding processes, from initial engagement to legal documentation and negotiations; involves close collaboration with legal/product structuring colleagues to drive terms and manage side-letter negotiations.
Minimum qualifications include:
- 5-7+ years in a similar or related role within an asset management firm, investment bank, private equity firm, placement agent, and/or consulting firm; legal background/experience is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with various private markets strategies (e.g., Private Equity, Private Credit) and institutional and private wealth funds.
- Initiative and creativity in approach to problem-solving and resourcefulness.
- Interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment with the ability to take initiative and have creativity in approach to problem-solving.
- Experience and expertise in private markets product development including onboarding, restructuring, and liquidating complex cross-jurisdictional fund structures, such as Luxembourg SICAVs, SMAs, Japanese onshore feeder funds, and Registered Investment Companies in the U.S.
- Excellent communication (written and oral), analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- A second European language (French, Spanish, or German) is a distinct advantage.
- Strong relationship-building skills for use with both clients, internal stakeholders, and service providers.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to help direct/manage production of a high volume of quality work across teams within tight timeframes, often including multiple simultaneous projects.
- Attention to detail—proven experience of delivering high levels of accuracy.
- Candidate must be a team player and self-motivated, demonstrating a willingness to take on more responsibility over time.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead regional teams.
