We are working with a leading international law firm on an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level lawyer to join its highly regarded Real Estate Finance team in London. The team advises major financial institutions, private equity investors, alternative lenders, real estate investors and developers on a broad range of sophisticated real estate finance transactions, both domestically and cross-border.

The Role

You will work closely with senior lawyers and clients on a varied and high-quality caseload, including:

  • Acquisition and development finance
  • Investment and portfolio financing
  • Senior and mezzanine debt
  • Refinancing and restructuring transactions
  • Real estate-backed corporate and leveraged finance
  • Loan-on-loan and fund financing
  • Cross-border real estate finance matters
  • Security, intercreditor and associated corporate documentation

The role offers excellent exposure to sophisticated transactions and the opportunity to work with market-leading clients across the banking and real estate sectors.

The Candidate

We are looking for a UK-qualified lawyer, or an equivalent common-law qualified lawyer, with approximately 1–5 years' PQE and experience in real estate finance, banking & finance or a closely related practice. You will ideally have:

  • Strong technical legal skills and a solid grounding in finance documentation
  • Experience working on real estate finance transactions, ideally acting for lenders and/or borrowers
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • The ability to manage matters effectively and work to demanding deadlines
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a high-performing international team

Candidates from a broader banking & finance background who have a genuine interest in developing a career in real estate finance will also be considered.
