As part of this growth, and internal development of our staff, we are now seeking a Relationship Manager to join our eCapital Commercial Finance UK head office in Reading, helping to transform the way small and medium-sized businesses access the funding they need to grow, adapt, and succeed.
The Role
Industry: Invoice Finance / Financial Services
As Relationship Manager, you'll proactively manage client relationships across a mixed portfolio of funding facilities, identifying opportunities to strengthen client partnerships while implementing effective strategies to manage risk and maximise facility longevity.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to:
- Lead and support a team to deliver exceptional operational service across allocated client portfolios.
- Conduct monthly portfolio reviews with Client Managers, taking a proactive and detailed approach to assessing client performance and risk.
- Drive individual and team performance against agreed objectives and development plans.
- Drive & support new business effort, including proactive engagement with Prospects, and overview of your Teams Take On Management.
- Undertake client visits and onboarding meetings, ensuring accurate reporting and a smooth transition from new business to ongoing relationship management.
- Review and analyse client information, including sales ledgers, debtor contracts, management accounts, and cashflow forecasts to assess risk and funding suitability.
- Proactively manage client complaints, ensuring appropriate escalation and adherence to company and regulatory procedures.
- Negotiate funding requirements, facility structures, and fees to support client retention and long-term relationship growth.
- Provide operational support during periods of team absence, ensuring client service standards and compliance requirements are maintained.
- Develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation, recovery, and exit strategies where required.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, providing expert guidance and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from candidates with:
✅ Experience within the Invoice Finance or Financial Services sector
✅ Experience managing client relationships within a funding environment
✅ Previous experience of leading, mentoring, and coaching Operational colleagues including Credit Control Teams.
✅ Strong commercial awareness and risk assessment capability
✅ Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
✅ Strong analytical, numerical, and IT skills
✅ Ability to prioritise workload
✅ Motivated and proactive, you can work independently using your own initiative, while contributing positively and collaboratively as part of a team.
