We are working with a leading global financial markets technology firm that is looking to hire a
Senior Application Support Engineer to join its Front Office Technology team.
This is an opportunity to support a high-performance electronic trading platform used by some of the world's largest financial institutions, working at the heart of mission‑critical trading systems in a fast‑paced, global environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing 3rd line application support for a Front Office electronic trading platform.
- Investigating production incidents, performing root cause analysis, and driving issues through to resolution.
- Monitoring production environments using modern observability tools.
- Supporting deployments, releases, configuration management and disaster recovery testing.
- Troubleshooting across the application, infrastructure, operating system and network stack.
- Developing automation scripts and process improvements to reduce manual support activities.
- Working closely with Software Engineers, Infrastructure, Product and Business teams on project deliveries and production changes.
- Supporting SQL queries, scripting and application enhancements where required.
- Maintaining technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the support function.
What they’re looking for
- 8-10 years experience in Front Office or Financial Markets Application Support.
- Experience supporting complex distributed systems in production.
- Linux and Windows administration experience.
- Python, Bash, Power Shell or similar scripting experience.
- Java or C++ knowledge.
- Strong SQL experience (relational databases) with exposure to No SQL technologies beneficial.
- Understanding of networking, APIs and FIX Protocol.
- Experience with Git, Docker and modern monitoring tools is advantageous.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A genuine interest in automating repetitive operational tasks.
