Stevenage c£40k Monday - Friday, 9 - 5 (flexible). You will be involved in redevelopment projects from an early stage, while also gaining hands-on experience in rent reviews, lease renewals and service charge work. You will be working with a supportive commercial property team based on site at one of their retail units. Everyone mucks in, no one hides behind job titles, and there’s real exposure to how assets are managed day to day.

You will support the Head of Asset Management and work closely with senior surveyors, gaining experience across a broad mix of work while progressing towards chartership.

What the role actually looks like:

You will be involved in the day-to-day management of a shopping centre and wider commercial assets, supporting with things like rent reviews, lease renewals and service charge work. You’ll help liaise with contractors, get exposure to redevelopment projects (including upper-floor redevelopment), and see how decisions are made from both a management and asset perspective. This isn’t a back-office role. You’ll be on site, part of the conversations, and involved in real projects that make a visible difference. There’s also strong exposure to larger commercial management structures and assets, giving you a great grounding as you work towards MRICS.

This would suit an Assistant Property Manager, Junior Surveyor from a commercial, residential or block property management background or someone early in their commercial career who is:

  • On the path to MRICS (or planning to be)
  • Keen to learn asset management as well as property management
