Residential Estate Manager – Prestigious Development

East London

£65,000 – £70,000 + Bonus

30+ Days' Holiday

Full-time | Permanent | On-site

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Residential Estate Manager with a strong background in managing high-quality residential developments, who understands the importance of combining excellent operational standards with an exceptional resident experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to take real ownership of a prestigious residential development in East London and play a key role in how the estate is operated, presented and experienced by its residents.

You will be visible, hands-on and fully engaged with your development. You will know your residents, your team and what is happening across the estate, taking genuine ownership of standards and ensuring the development is somewhere residents are proud to call home.

We are looking for someone proactive and forward-thinking – an Estate Manager who doesn't simply react to problems, but anticipates them, notices the details and continually looks for opportunities to improve both the development and the service residents receive.

The Role

As Residential Estate Manager, this is your site to run.

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the development, leading the on-site team and ensuring consistently high standards across resident services, presentation, maintenance, safety and compliance.

A significant part of your role will be building relationships. You will be a visible and approachable presence for residents, lead your team from the front and ensure contractors and service partners understand and deliver the standards expected within a high-quality residential environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of the day-to-day running, presentation and performance of the development
  • Leading, motivating and developing the on-site team
  • Creating a positive, accountable and resident-focused culture
  • Ensuring consistently high levels of customer service and resident satisfaction
  • Building strong relationships with residents and dealing confidently with queries, concerns and complaints
  • Maintaining a visible presence across the development and ensuring standards are consistently maintained
  • Overseeing contractors and service partners and ensuring works are completed to the required standard
  • Ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is managed effectively and issues are followed through to resolution
  • Taking responsibility for Health & Safety, fire safety, emergency procedures and site compliance
  • Monitoring expenditure and ensuring the development operates effectively within agreed budgets
  • Overseeing security, access and the overall safety of residents, visitors and staff
  • Managing defects and snagging issues where required
  • Reviewing existing systems and processes and identifying opportunities to improve service, efficiency and the resident experience
  • Taking ownership when problems arise and ensuring they are resolved effectively

The development also incorporates a commercial element, so there will be some interaction with commercial occupiers; however, the primary focus of the role is the residential estate and its community.

About You

You will already have strong experience managing a high-quality residential development and understand the particular demands and expectations that come with managing people's homes.

Previous residential estate management experience is essential for this position.

You will be an experienced Residential Estate Manager, Residential Development Manager or Residential Building Manager who combines strong operational knowledge with excellent people skills and a genuine commitment to delivering high standards.

You will be:

  • A confident and engaging people manager who leads by example
  • Hands-on, visible and comfortable being out across the development
  • Highly resident and customer-service focused
  • Proactive, forward-thinking and solutions-focused
  • Experienced in managing and developing on-site teams
  • Confident dealing with residents, including complaints and more challenging situations
  • Experienced in managing contractors, maintenance and service delivery within a residential environment
  • Knowledgeable in Health & Safety, fire safety and residential building compliance
  • Commercially aware and comfortable managing expenditure against budget
  • Calm and decisive when dealing with emergencies or unexpected situations
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Professional and approachable with high expectations of yourself and your team

Most importantly, you will take pride in your development and treat it as your own. You will notice when something isn't right, take responsibility for getting it sorted and continually look for ways to make the development and resident experience better.

The Package

This is a senior Residential Estate Manager appointment offering an excellent package:

  • £65,000 – £70,000 basic salary
  • Bonus
  • 30+ days' annual holiday
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • The opportunity to take real ownership of a prestigious East London residential development
  • A senior and autonomous on-site management position
  • The opportunity to lead and develop an established team
  • Genuine scope to influence standards, service and how the development operates

This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished Residential Estate Manager who wants to take ownership of a development rather than simply manage it from behind a desk.

If you are an experienced, hands-on Residential Estate Manager who is passionate about delivering exceptional standards, building strong resident relationships and creating a development people are proud to call home, we would love to hear from you.
