You’ll gain direct client exposure, responsibility for your own projects and a broad range of experience within a respected practice. The opportunity is open to candidates from Assistant through to Senior Surveyor level, with responsibilities tailored to your experience. You could be developing your skills and working towards chartership, or already qualified and looking for a varied role with greater project ownership. About the Role You’ll split your time approximately equally between working as an embedded surveyor for a prestigious London estate and delivering the consultancy’s wider surveying instructions. It’s an opportunity to understand a property portfolio in depth while continuing to build the technical breadth that comes from consultancy work. Client-Side Estate Projects – Approximately 50% Delivering professional services, planned maintenance and projects across commercial, retail and residential buildings for one of London’s Great Estates Acting as an embedded surveyor, working directly with the estate client Undertaking site inspections, managing contractors and overseeing the quality of work Reporting on progress and coordinating delivery with the Director Traditional Consultancy Surveying – Approximately 50% Undertaking pre-acquisition surveys and defect investigations Preparing schedules of condition and dilapidations reports Supporting party wall instructions and contract administration Managing varied commercial and residential instructions across London About You At least 12 months’ experience in a building surveying role Technical knowledge appropriate to your level across professional surveying and project work Clear communication skills and confidence dealing with clients An organised approach to managing your workload MRICS qualification or progress towards the APC would be welcome, with support available for those working towards chartership. Experience with estate portfolios, leasehold property or traditional buildings would also be useful. You aren’t expected to have experience in every area.
