The Role

Due to new client wins, we’re expanding our technical team and seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer. You’ll be working closely with a variety of businesses, supporting infrastructure and software environments primarily based on Microsoft technologies. This role involves a mix of service desk work, on-site support (typically two days per week), and project implementation. We’re looking for someone proactive, adaptable, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support via phone, remote access, and on-site visits
  • Manage helpdesk tickets using our Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) system
  • Install, configure, and support Windows Server and desktop environments
  • Design and maintain network infrastructure and associated systems
  • Monitor and improve backup, disaster recovery, and security protocols
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to system/process improvements
  • Liaise directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored IT solutions
  • Participate in system upgrades and technology deployments

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience in an IT support or infrastructure role
  • Strong knowledge of: Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Windows 10/11
  • Active Directory, Group Policy
  • IP networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs
  • Server hardware, routers, firewalls (Cisco, Draytek, Ubiquiti)
  • Backup systems, restoration, and business continuity planning
  • IT security best practices
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and customer service focus
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Microsoft, CompTIA)
  • Experience with RMM systems and automation tools
  • Familiarity with scripting or process automation
