The Corporate Actions Analyst will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of corporate action events across multiple markets and instruments. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong reconciliation experience to ensure all positions, entitlements, and cash movements are correctly accounted for. This position plays a key part in safeguarding client assets and minimizing operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Actions Processing
- Monitor, capture, and process voluntary and mandatory corporate action events (e.g., dividends, mergers, rights issues, tender offers, stock splits).
- Interpret and validate information received from custodians, vendors, and market announcements.
- Ensure entitlements are accurately reflected in client accounts and systems.
Reconciliations
- Perform daily reconciliations of positions, cash, and entitlements against custodians, counterparties, and internal records.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks promptly, escalating unresolved items to management.
- Maintain an audit trail of reconciliation issues and actions taken.
- Adhere to strict operational controls and escalation procedures.
- Identify areas of operational risk and recommend improvements to processes.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate data and documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with custodians, brokers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and senior management on event processing and reconciliation issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert on reconciliation queries within the Corporate Actions team.
- Contribute to process reviews and system enhancements aimed at improving reconciliation efficiency and accuracy.
- Document workflows and support training for junior team members.
- Assist in testing new system functionalities and upgrades.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in corporate actions operations within financial services.
- Strong background in cash and stock reconciliations (positions and entitlements).
- Excellent attention to detail, with a risk‑aware mindset.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of financial instruments (equities, bonds, funds).
- Proficiency with reconciliation tools and MS Excel.
- Experience with global markets and multiple asset classes.
- Knowledge of corporate action lifecycle from announcement to settlement.
- Familiarity with SWIFT messages, market data providers, and custodian platforms.
- Exposure to operational risk frameworks and control environments.
- SQL knowledge
- CFD experience
