Role Purpose

The Dealing Desk Operations Analyst will support the Head of Dealing and trading operations by ensuring robust execution quality, operational resilience, and effective management of trade lifecycle processes. This role sits at the intersection of dealing, technology, and liquidity management, requiring hands-on involvement with OneZero, Trader Evolution, and real-time trade monitoring in an FCA-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dealing desk with real-time trade monitoring, execution quality checks, and incident response.
  • Monitor OneZero Hub/bridge connectivity with liquidity providers (LPs), pricing feeds, and execution venues; escape and resolve issues promptly.
  • Support the full trade lifecycle, including order routing, fills, allocations, cancellations, and amendments.
  • Perform pre- and post-trade checks, including price validation, slippage analysis, rejection analysis, and best execution monitoring.
  • Coordinate with liquidity providers and internal technology teams on execution quality, connectivity, and operational issues.
  • Assist with reconciliations with LPs and monitor LP exposure, margins, funding, and balances.
  • Support configuration and maintenance of symbols, markups, spreads, risk rules, and routing profiles within OneZero and Trader Evolution.
  • Contribute to incident management, root-cause analysis, and documentation of operational and dealing procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, risk limits, and FCA regulatory requirements at all times.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years’ experience in dealing desk support, trade operations, or brokerage operations, preferably within an FCA-regulated firm.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with OneZero Hub/bridge, including routing, LP management, monitoring, and basic configuration.
  • Strong understanding of FX and CFD markets, order types, execution models (STP, B-book, hybrid), and liquidity dynamics.
  • Working knowledge of FIX concepts and trade flow, including message lifecycle, rejects, and timeouts.
  • Experience with trade reconciliation, reporting, and operational control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a real-time trading environment.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency with trading platforms such as MT4/MT5 and proprietary platforms, as well as OMS/EMS tools.
  • Experience conducting client analysis, including risk assessment, trading behaviour, EA usage, and identification of abusive or toxic flow.
  • Solid understanding of execution metrics, including latency, slippage, fill ratios, and rejection rates.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills; experience with SQL or basic scripting is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

Soft Skills

  • Clear and effective communication with traders, technology teams, Compliance, Risk, and external counterparties.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Proactive, dependable, and collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership.

Education & Certifications (Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry or market-related certifications are an advantage.

Shift-based support may be required to cover global trading hours. Fast-paced, high-availability trading environment with real-time operational demands.

Success Metrics

  • Successfully act as backup to the Head of Dealing, managing exposure and P&L within predefined limits and keeping breaches to an absolute minimum.
  • Become the primary internal resource for setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of OneZero and Trader Evolution.
  • Design, implement, and maintain reports for client analysis, book performance, and hedge effectiveness.
