The IT Manager is accountable for ensuring EC Marketsβ IT operations, infrastructure, and service delivery comply with FCA expectations, internal IT policies, and audit requirements. This role owns IT governance, operational controls, and day-to-day IT management, acting as the primary interface between technology, compliance, and third-party providers.
This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and compliance of IT operations within the organization.
Responsibilities- IT Governance & Policy Ownership
- Own, maintain, and enforce IT policies and standards (e.g. access control, acceptable use, change management, asset management).
- Ensure policies are implemented in practice, evidenced, and audit-ready.
- Coordinate IT risk inputs into compliance and risk reporting.
- Operational IT Management
- Oversee core IT infrastructure (end-user computing, networks, core platforms, Microsoft/cloud services).
- Manage provisioning and de-provisioning of users, devices, and systems in line with Joiners-Movers-Leavers controls.
- Maintain asset registers, licence management, and system inventories.
- Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Manage IT service providers, MSPs, SaaS vendors, and technology suppliers.
- Ensure contracts, SLAs, and security assurances meet FCA and internal requirements.
- Support due diligence and ongoing monitoring of IT third parties.
- Audit, Assurance & Regulatory Support
- Act as IT lead for FCA audits, internal reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Produce evidence of IT controls, system access, logging, backups, and resilience.
- Track and remediate audit findings and action plans.
- Business Continuity & Resilience
- Own IT aspects of BCP and DR planning, testing, and documentation.
- Ensure backups, recovery procedures, and operational resilience controls are effective and tested.
- Hands-On Responsibilities (Limited but Expected)
- Day-to-day administration of systems, licenses, and access rights, where required.
- Oversight of IT support queues and escalation handling.
- Proven IT management experience in an FCA-regulated or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, access controls, audit evidence, and vendor risk.
- Broad technical competence (Microsoft stack, cloud services (AWS/Azure), identity management).
- Strong documentation, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with compliance assessments and regulatory frameworks.
