My client, a Plant and Vehicle Maintenance company, are seeking a Level Three Vehicle Technician to be the sole Vehicle Technician at their customer's on-site workshop. You will be based in Chatham working directly with the customer supporting their fleet including servicing, maintenance and unplanned mechanical issues. You will also be expected to manage your workload and supplies. This role is ideal for a Vehicle Technician who has proven workshop experience and is keen to secure a role where they have more independence and are comfortable working alone.

Responsibilities of the Vehicle Technician:

  • Inspecting vehicles and diagnosing any required work.
  • Discussing required repairs with the admin team and customers.
  • Calculating the expected time for repairs.
  • Repairing or replacing components as required.
  • Road testing vehicles to test repair work or diagnose.
  • Fitting and servicing vehicle accessories, including parking sensors, cameras, towbars and reverse cameras.
  • Performing service and vehicle system safety checks.
  • Performing vehicle maintenance tasks, such as changing oil and air filters, brakes, clutch, gearbox, suspension and diagnostics as required.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
  • To carry out quality checks on all technician's work and discuss findings.
  • When requested, visit off-site locations and carry out safety guidelines to ensure both personal and team health and well-being is kept in mind.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification is required for this position.
  • Proven experience in a similar role is required for this position.
  • MOT testing experience would be advantageous.
  • Full valid Driving Licence with 6 points or less.
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications.
  • Maintain any required professional qualifications.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that protects the corporate image and integrity.
