Due to staff progression within our business, we have the opportunity to appoint an experienced Relief Poultry Farm Manager to our team to support our various poultry broiler sites in the Brandesburton area of Yorkshire. Purpose of the role

The main responsibility of the Relief Farm Manager will be for the covering of Farm Management staff as required including the well-being and performance of the flock. This is an opportunity to progress a career within our broiler production business. You will be assisting as relief cover supporting farms during tipping, catching, days off and holidays. This position will include travelling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Converse with each Poultry Farm Management team with regards to cover planning.
  • Support all parties and employees on the farm, ensuring visitors/contractors comply with company standards as well as Health & Safety and other UK legislation.
  • Maintain optimum environmental conditions and ensure bird welfare and biosecurity practices are maintained.
  • Maintain accurate records as stipulated by our client & UK legislation.
  • Ensuring that high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and husbandry practice are maintained.
  • Comply with legislative and assurance scheme standards.
  • General duties around the farm including maintaining cleanliness and basic maintenance of the site.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a Relief Farm Manager position although Assistant Farm Managers with the necessary experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in managing people.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to be self-driven and gain results.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and carry out manual duties.
  • Excellent stockmanship skills.
  • Bird Husbandry.
  • Full UK Driving Licence for a minimum of one year.
  • Basic IT skills.

  • You must be able to work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.
  • Preferably you will have a Poultry Passport / NVQ Level 3 in livestock production.
