This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paralegal or Caseworker who is looking to take on greater responsibility for their own caseload and develop their career within Family law, ideal for someone ready to move beyond a support-based Paralegal position and take on greater responsibility for case holding and client work.

Your experience is likely to include:

  • Experience working within Family law, ideally with experience of managing or assisting with your own caseload
  • A strong understanding of Family law and an interest in developing your experience across both public and private law matters
  • Confidence in dealing directly with clients and other professionals
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to manage your workload effectively and work under pressure
  • Capability of working independently while benefiting from appropriate supervision and support

The successful candidate will be able to run cases in their own right with supervision and will take responsibility for a range of Family matters. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing the highest level of client care in the management of client matters
  • Managing your own caseload under appropriate supervision
  • Undertaking both public and private law Family work
  • Providing support to Fee Earners where required, helping to ensure the effective management of the sider team caseload
  • Building strong relationships with clients and internal and external parties
  • Ensuring that files are managed effectively and accurately, including creating letters and documents in the case management system
  • Attending client meetings and taking notes
  • Completing public funding applications where required
  • Collating and redacting large volumes of documentation for Court bundles where necessary
  • Liaising with Courts and experts as required
  • Taking responsibility for progressing matters efficiently and ensuring that deadlines and case requirements are met
  • Undertaking fee-earning work and contributing to the continued development of the Family department
