We’re looking for an experienced mobile-first Product Designer to help shape world-class native mobile experiences for Ebury clients. Using your design expertise and deep understanding of mobile interaction patterns, you’ll translate complex financial workflows into simple, intuitive experiences designed specifically for mobile.
In this role, you’ll own end-to-end design for key areas of the Ebury mobile experience - from discovery and interaction models through detailed design, prototyping, engineering partnership and launch. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Operations to define problems, explore opportunities and ship high-quality native experiences.
This role may be hired at Product Designer II (Level 3) or Senior Product Designer (Level 4), depending on the level of autonomy, product judgement and scope demonstrated through the interview process.
What you’ll do
- Own end-to-end design for key journeys within the Ebury mobile app, from prioritisation and concept through detailed design, implementation and launch.
- Design mobile-first experiences, rather than adapting desktop or web interfaces to smaller screens.
- Apply a strong understanding of iOS and Android conventions, navigation models, gestures, native behaviours, accessibility and platform constraints.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Operations to translate strategy into actionable design, identifying high-impact problems and driving alignment on priorities.
- Simplify complex financial workflows for mobile, balancing client needs, business goals, security requirements and technical constraints.
- Craft elegant, intuitive mobile interactions with strong attention to hierarchy, motion, feedback, states and edge cases.
- Prototype, test and iterate quickly, using research and data to understand behaviour and validate interaction models before implementation.
- Use tools such as Claude, Codex, Figma Make or other AI-assisted prototyping and coding tools where they help you explore interactions, build functional prototypes, test assumptions or improve your own workflow.
- Critically evaluate generated solutions and use your own product and design judgement to determine what should ultimately ship.
- Contribute mobile patterns and components to our design system, ensuring the system supports native experiences rather than simply reproducing web patterns.
- Partner closely with mobile engineers through implementation to ensure quality and polish at launch.
- Contribute to design culture through critiques, workshops and reviews - raising the bar through craft and collaboration.
What you’ll need
- Relevant professional experience within Product Design or UX, with scope and expectations assessed according to Level 3 or Level 4.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong mobile product work, including shipped native iOS and/or Android experiences.
- Strong understanding of mobile interaction design, information architecture, navigation, gestures, states and platform conventions.
- Experience working closely with mobile engineers and understanding the practical constraints involved in building native applications.
- Strong visual craft, with expertise in layout, typography, hierarchy and interaction design on smaller screens.
- Strong product thinking, with the ability to balance client needs, business goals and technical realities and make deliberate, data-informed trade-offs.
- A strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity about new ways of working.
- Comfort moving beyond static design files - using prototypes, AI-assisted tools, code or other methods when they provide a faster or better way to understand a mobile interaction.
- Proven collaboration skills across Design, Product and Engineering.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders.
- Fintech experience, or experience within similarly complex, data-heavy or regulated products, is strongly preferred.
