Ebury is a global fintech firm dedicated to empowering businesses to expand internationally through tailored and forward-thinking financial solutions. Since our founding in 2009, we have grown to a diverse team of over 1,700 professionals across 40+ offices and 29+ markets worldwide. Joining Ebury means becoming part of a collaborative and innovative environment where your contributions are valued. You will play a key role in shaping the future of cross-border finance while advancing your own career in a dynamic, high-growth industry.
The Mission: Your goal is to enable a Projected Balance Sheet updated on a daily basis. By mastering the flow of multi-entity, multi-currency postings, you will provide the ALM function with the data they need to make critical hedging decisions intramonth, protecting the group from currency volatility before the books are even closed.
The Role: Strategic Financial Infrastructure. This is a domain-heavy role. You will be the "source of truth" architect, ensuring that our systems handle complex FX logic at the posting level rather than through manual adjustments.
- Daily Ledger Integrity: Design and oversee the logic that converts transactional events into daily GL postings.
- Projected Balance Sheets: Build the capability for ALM to view a "live" balance sheet, allowing for intramonth hedging of FX exposure.
- Multi-Entity & Consolidation: Manage the complexity of a multi-entity group. You will define how local entity balance sheets (in functional currencies) are translated and consolidated into the Group reporting currency.
- FX Exposure Management: Identify and isolate currency exposure arising from Translation Risk and Transaction Risk.
- Stakeholder Challenge: Act as the bridge between the Treasurer and the Head of Accounting, challenging existing manual workarounds and replacing them with automated, system-driven financial logic.
Technical & Domain Expertise:
- GL Mastery: Deep experience with the Chart of Accounts (CoA) and how sub-ledgers feed into the General Ledger.
- Consolidation Logic: Expert knowledge of multi-entity consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and CTA accounts.
- Accounting Standards: Strong grasp of IFRS/Local GAAP regarding foreign currency translation.
- Systems Thinker: Understand how to map data from proprietary transactional engines into ERPs.
- Proactive Hedging Support: Understand why ALM needs data now rather than in 30 days, and know how to build the systems to provide it.
What you will need:
- Experience: 5+ years in Financial Systems, Accounting Technology, or GL Management within a complex financial institution or Fintech.
- Multicurrency Expertise: Proven track record of managing balance sheets that span dozens of currencies and multiple legal entities.
- The "Challenge" Mindset: Ability to audit current manual processes and propose a superior automated architecture.
