Our operations teams work throughout the UK delivering amazing projects in some stunning locations as well as some challenging conditions. We are looking for someone who can work nationally, operating specialist equipment in line with policies and procedures whilst supporting the wider teams to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and to an exceptional standard.

What we need from you:

  • Work independently by organising and carrying out machinery movements, supporting the project delivery teams.
  • Be aware of and respect the existing environment, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding areas.
  • Operate equipment as highlighted in the manufacturer’s user manuals and company processes.
  • Work nationally on a wide range of specialist machinery including amphibious excavators, long-reach excavators, excavators mounted on pontoons/dredgers, helmsman, dumpers and other plant operations on a variety of inland watercourses and waterbodies.
  • Ensure the satisfactory completion of work with final grades and tolerances being accurate.
  • Log outputs when required and pass them back to the Site/Senior Site Manager, including daily quantities, loads away, meterage worked.
  • Work with the site and project delivery teams to organise movements, on/off hires and cost saving initiatives.
  • Carry out site visits in order to specify machinery requirements and time scales where required.
  • Ensure that maintenance logs are kept for both project and management records.
  • Ensure all fuelling and maintenance is carried out in accordance with the environmental risk management plans and manufacturer’s user manuals.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that vehicles, tools and plant equipment under your control are fit for use and are stored & maintained correctly with any damage and/or defects reported immediately to your Line Manager and the P&E Department.
  • Work effectively as a team member where machine requirements are not required by undertaking other reasonable duties to ensure collaboration in meeting deadlines.
  • Comply with all health and safety work requirements.
  • Be professional in your approach to our clients.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with safe working methods and Company procedures.

It is essential that you have:

  • 5 years previous experience of operating 360 Excavators.
  • A59a c/w lifting Ops/NPORS.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

It would be desirable if you have:

  • SSSTS.
  • Other plant training.
  • Mechanical knowledge to be able to perform general maintenance.
  • First Aid.
  • Previous experience on working in or around watercourses.
