Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, you’ll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across the organisation, combining deep technical expertise with leadership and a continuous-improvement mindset. If you thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment and enjoy solving complex challenges with real customer impact, this role offers a chance to make a meaningful difference.

- Lead and support complex library data integrations, including API-based integrations with library systems.
- Guide non-technical teams on library data requirements to support search, discovery, and display features across EBSCO’s SaaS products.
- Serve as a primary escalation point for complex internal and customer issues.
- Read, validate, and lead the creation of detailed technical database design specifications for bibliographic data.
- Operate and improve automated tools and processes to meet quality and delivery targets.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Agile Product Owners, and peers as part of SAFe planning and delivery.
- Perform quality checks, resolve defects, and monitor product health.
- Work with internal teams, external vendors, and partners on essential workflows and ETL operations.
- Lead the validation and documentation of new APIs, tools, and operational processes.
- Use data, metrics, and root-cause analysis to identify trends, propose improvements, and drive change.
About You
You’re an experienced library or bibliographic data professional who combines technical depth with strong communication and leadership skills. You’re comfortable working across teams, balancing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of complex problems from start to finish.
You’ll bring
- A MA or MSc in Library and Information Studies or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of library automation software and library system integrations.
- 4+ years’ experience in librarianship or bibliographic database development/design.
- Expertise in bibliographic standards such as MARC21, Dublin Core, JSON, NLM XML, and JATS.
- Experience with web-based bibliographic search and retrieval techniques and indexing methods.
- Hands-on experience working with REST APIs, particularly within library software environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively in Agile, fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience designing and documenting operational processes.
- Experience evaluating or implementing ETL tools, middleware, or data integration APIs.
Above all, you’re collaborative, results-driven, and motivated by making a real impact—bringing curiosity, accountability, and a positive mindset to everything you do.
