Under the direction of the Engineering Manager:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Electrical Engineering Team.
  • Responsible for reviewing, digesting, and technical translation of customer-specific requirements from contract documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance, detailing equipment selections, specifications, and production of design deliverables to support a variety of Water Technologies products and systems.
  • Supervise design output content from a team of Electrical engineers and manage Electrical design engineering resourcing and scheduling.
  • Mentor and develop Engineers, foster a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture, and set engineering best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and review client specifications, current Industry Standards, and National Regulations to ensure compliant designs.
  • Review Electrical data sheets and construct electrical equipment specifications for procurement.
  • Prepare package control documentation such as Control Philosophies, Cause and Effect Charts, Logic Diagrams.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of proposal scope documents and engage with clients and sub-contractors during discussions.
  • Review Process Control Philosophies and Functional Design Specifications to ensure coordination of design and engineering information.
  • Assist in resolving design issues during manufacture, installation, commissioning, and operation of products and systems.
  • Comply with, support, and develop the Company Quality Assurance System – BS EN:ISO 9001:2015.
  • Assess department workload and manage priorities of tasks for the Electrical engineering design team.
  • Attend and support project FATs in the Test area on the shop floor.
  • Lead the Electrical team, coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Implement company quality Q.A Procedures regarding Engineering Design Document Control Procedures.
  • Eliminate hazards and mitigate risks in all product and system designs.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness and knowledge of various water treatment processes and associated suppliers.

Skills:

  • An Engineering qualification at Degree level or equivalent in an Electrical discipline.
  • Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions presented in diagrammatic form.
  • Good problem-solving ability and a creative approach for new ideas.
  • Experience in Electro chlorination packages desirable.
  • Experience with PLC programming.
  • Knowledge and experience of ATEX, IEC Ex, HAZOP desirable.
  • Experience of major Petrochem engineering specifications e.g. BP & Shell desirable.
  • A good level of computer literacy.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing and production methods and processes.
  • Confidence and capability with numbers.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Good team-working skills and attitude.
  • Good communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in an organised way with effective prioritisation and planning.
  • Experience supervising teams.
