The Analyst supports the efficient and effective financial management of donor resources entrusted to the Bank to advance climate change and environmental objectives. The Analyst analyses financial information and provides solutions to a wide spectrum of financial issues, manages donor funds, provides financial advice, and coordinates periodic and annual financial reports.
Using donor finance in a disciplined manner is integral to the Bank’s business model and is a key enabler of its strategic goals. The Bank must meet donor expectations to maintain continued support. The need for collective, urgent and ambitious action on climate has never been greater. Under its Strategic and Capital Framework 2026‑2030, the EBRD reaffirms its commitment to supporting a green economy transition and mobilising private capital at scale, including through innovative blended finance structures.
EBRD works with some 50 multilateral and bilateral donors, with about 50% of the Bank’s investments drawing on donor support. The Green Partnerships team manages a portfolio close to USD 3 billion and collaborates with partners across three continents to advance climate and environmental action.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support the management of donor funds: track contributions received, committed, and disbursed; earmark funds; process disbursements; manage fund budgets; issue payment requests; set up funds in the IT system; undertake fund termination activities.
- Review cash positions across the portfolio to ensure sufficient funds for disbursements, record income receipts and contributions, and prepare monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Manage, plan and allocate climate donor management fees; analyse, monitor and anticipate fee inflow and outflow; prepare fee reports to donors.
- Map financial processes to improve internal procedures and propose effective planning and management of financial resources.
- Continuously analyse financial situations and programme delivery, monitor budget preparations and modifications, and prepare analytical reports.
- Implement effective internal financial control by reviewing transactions posted to the accounting systems for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Manage and analyse financial data; provide technical briefings and visuals for presentations and documents.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with donor agreements, policies and procedures; support teams in implementing these.
- Maintain accounting and reporting systems, files and other records for accurate and timely information.
- Prepare financial reports to donors, ensuring reporting deadlines are met and reports are of appropriate quality.
- Provide advice to EBRD colleagues on relevant financial products or transactions.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, business administration, accounting or related subject.
- Experience in financial and funds management services and accounting, including financial management systems such as SAP; preference for international organisations.
- Experience analysing and interpreting financial information, conducting financial analysis, presenting data meaningfully and undertaking financial reporting.
- Experience managing budgets, contributions and investments, and verifying accounts and records for audit purposes.
- Strong quantitative, numerical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of accounting concepts, principles, regulations and policies, and ability to apply them in practice.
- Computer literacy with deep experience in Excel, financial analysis and modelling software.
- Fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Self‑starter and problem‑solver with a can‑do entrepreneurial attitude.
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong process management skills, with ability to work across departments.
