Eblex Group is supporting a fast-growing European clinical AI company that has recently expanded into the UK with the opening of its new London office. The company is building AI-driven software designed to improve how clinical development teams manage, interpret, and operationalise clinical data across the drug development lifecycle. As part of their continued growth, they are looking for an AI Engineer with a strong backend software engineering focus to help scale the platform infrastructure and AI capabilities. The Role of AI Engineer
You will work closely with AI, product, and engineering teams to develop and scale backend systems that power intelligent clinical applications. The position is heavily backend-focused, with responsibility for building scalable services, integrating AI models into production environments, and supporting large-scale clinical data workflows.
Key Responsibilities of AI Engineer
- Design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs supporting AI-driven clinical applications
- Build infrastructure to support machine learning model deployment and orchestration
- Develop and optimise pipelines for clinical and operational data processing
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to productionise machine learning models
- Improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability across cloud environments
- Work closely with product and clinical teams to translate operational challenges into technical solutions

Technical Requirements of the AI Engineer
- Strong backend engineering experience using Python, Node.js, Java, or similar technologies
- Experience building scalable APIs and distributed systems

- Experience supporting AI/ML workflows in production environments
- Understanding of databases, data engineering, and ETL pipelines
