A leading provider of intelligent transport systems, ebblo, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Warehouse Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role is primarily focused on typical warehouse duties such as checking in/out of goods, asset tracking and updating the asset database, spares handling, and equipment kit preparations for dispatches. It also requires light maintenance activities of AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) equipment such as testing, cleaning, refurbishing, and some electrical work such as cable replacements.
This role is ideal for someone with existing experience in warehouse activities and looking to expand their skills and knowledge on tooling and equipment maintenance.

Core Responsibilities
- Goods Inward: Receive and unload deliveries, check for damaged or missing items, and verify paperwork (e.g., delivery notes) matches the goods received.
- Inventory Management: Move and store goods in their correct locations, conduct regular stock counts, and update inventory records using computer systems and handheld scanners.
- Order Fulfillment: Picking items for customer orders, securely packing them, labelling packages, and preparing for shipment.
- Dispatch: Updating stock database, preparing delivery notes, obtaining signatures for collections, and recording delivery notes on the system to ensure they match the delivery schedule.
- Health & Safety: Maintaining a tidy environment, removing hazards, following all safety guidelines, and optimising space utilisation within the warehouse.
- Equipment Maintenance: Testing, cleaning, and refurbishment of AVL equipment and related components.
- Operations: Moving materials, loading/unloading trucks, and operating warehouse machinery (like pallet jacks and pallet stackers).
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Physical Fitness/Stamina: Ability to lift and move stock & equipment safely.
- Attention to Detail: For accurate picking, packing, and record-keeping.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues to meet targets.
- Safety Awareness: Following safety procedures and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Good Literacy/Numeracy: For reading labels, documenting, and counting.
- Tooling: Basic electrical wiring/soldering and basic use of hand tools.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Work within ESD controls (IEC 61340), electrical safety, and safe use of hand tools and chemicals.
- Use PPE as required; risk assess unusual tasks; report near misses and incidents promptly.
- Ensure all activities comply with contractual obligations and company standards.
Collaboration and Communication
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Work closely with Key Account Service Delivery Manager regarding prioritisation and adherence to company and project goals and targets.
Self-Management
- Operate independently, managing your own workload and priorities.
- Demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and overcoming obstacles.
- Seek guidance when necessary but maintain the ability to make informed decisions autonomously.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related warehouse operations role.
- 3 years’ experience of managing heavy equipment and use of heavy lifting equipment (desirable).
- Competent use of basic hand tools.
- Experience with basic soldering and wire crimping.
- Experience in Asset management.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems, handheld scanners, and basic computer software.
- Knowledge of warehouse health and safety protocols.
- High attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable for occasional vehicle-based checks or collections).
