We operate and maintain sophisticated risk and compliance programs, while setting consistent standards and policies globally in this constantly evolving regulatory environment.
New laws in Europe, such as the Online Safety Act (OSA) in the UK and the Digital Services Act (DSA) in the EU have established higher benchmarks in platform regulation and impose a range of requirements on platforms providing services to European users. As a result, we are looking for an experienced compliance manager to help build out eBay’s European compliance program with a focus on the OSA, to be based in eBay’s London offices.

- Work closely with our Senior EU Compliance Officer on handling OSA and other compliance requirements.
- Drive the development and implementation of operational compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to help us align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of key operational risk indicators, areas of improvements, and recommend appropriate action.
- Work with eBay’s internal teams, including Legal, Government Relations, eBay’s Regulatory Initiative team, Analytics, Product, and Customer Support.
- Use your extensive understanding of regulations affecting the tech industry and compliance management to develop and inform our compliance approach.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Developing and running our OSA compliance program and potentially other regulations.
- Coordination with internal partners and external advisors to assess risks and establish mitigation strategies.
- Support our ongoing engagement with regulators and assist with any information requests.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes based on insights and feedback from internal partners, customers and regulators.
- Regularly update leadership on project statuses, compliance gaps, strategic decision-making and prioritization.
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, audit or a related role, preferably in the technology, internet or digital services sector, or working for a relevant regulator or government agency.
- Proactive and solution focussed approach, demonstrating strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Desire for continual professional development to stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations and to grow your expertise as a compliance professional.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
