Join eBay’s Financial Services group to help grow our global Insurance business through crafting protection solutions that foster trust and improve the buying and selling experience on eBay’s marketplace. Your focus will be on enabling and managing insurance products linked to marketplace purchases like extended warranties, product protection, and shipping or transaction-related protection, as well as supporting B2B insurance opportunities for sellers including liability, cyber, business interruption, and other relevant commercial coverages.
What you will accomplish:
- Responsible for growing insurance programs as a business area: Manage the strategy, roadmap, economics, and performance of consumer and seller-focused insurance products. Take ownership of program P&L, revenue, margin, attach rate, conversion, customer experience, and partner performance.
- Launch and scale insurance solutions across markets: Lead the development and rollout of new insurance programs, from opportunity sizing and making the case through partner selection, commercial negotiation, product launch, and ongoing optimization.
- Build customer‑centric protection journeys: Collaborate with Product, Development, Engineering, Analytics, and regional teams to integrate insurance and protection offers into relevant buyer and seller flows, enhancing targeting, offer presentation, eligibility, quote, purchase, servicing, and claims experiences.
- Drive insurance partnerships and commercial agreements: Discover, appraise, negotiate, and maintain relationships with insurers, brokers, MGAs, warranty providers, insurtechs, and other key partners; guide contract negotiations, determine commercial arrangements, conduct performance reviews, and manage operational or commercial issues.
- Balance growth, trust, and regulatory requirements: Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and partner teams to ensure programs meet applicable regulatory, conduct, marketing, and customer protection standards across markets, and support compliant product development and customer communications.
- Drive performance through data and operating rhythm: Establish and manage key performance indicators, reporting, and business reviews; use data to identify opportunities to improve conversion, attach rates, loss ratios, claims experience, customer happiness, revenue, and margin.
- Contribute to the overall insurance strategy by identifying new products, market entry ways, partnership types, and commercial frameworks that improve eBay’s Financial Services for buyers and sellers globally.
What you will bring:
- Insurance experience: Over 8 years in insurance, insurtech, financial services, e‑commerce, marketplace, retail, or embedded protection products. Solid expertise in consumer insurance is essential, preferably involving extended warranties, product protection, purchase protection, device protection, shipping protection, or other e‑commerce related offerings.
- B2B insurance exposure: Experience with seller, merchant, SME, or commercial insurance products such as general liability, professional liability, cyber insurance, business interruption, goods‑in‑transit, or similar protection products for online sellers.
- Program P&L ownership: Demonstrated experience owning or materially contributing to large‑scale program P&L, including revenue, margin, commercial performance, partner economics, and customer or portfolio‑level indicators.
- Launch and scaling experience: Experience launching new insurance, protection, or financial services programs across one or more markets, moving from concept through partner selection, implementation, go‑to‑market, and post‑launch optimization.
- Business development and negotiation skills: Proficiency in partner sourcing, commercial negotiation, contract management, and performance management against agreed goals.
- Customer and product orientation: Understanding of how embedded insurance products fit within digital customer journeys and ability to partner with Product and Tech teams to boost offer relevance, conversion, trust, servicing, and claims experience.
