Network Infrastructure Engineer in Glasgow

A growing managed services provider is hiring a Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join its technical team in Glasgow. This is a hands‑on role supporting a range of client environments across on‑prem, hybrid and cloud, with a mix of projects, escalations, and proactive improvement work.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting and improving Windows Server and Linux estates
• Managing virtual platforms such as VMware, Hyper‑V and/or Proxmox
• Supporting LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi networks, including switches, routers and firewalls
• Monitoring availability and performance, taking proactive action to prevent issues
• Delivering infrastructure work such as migrations, upgrades, deployments and renewals
• Managing key controls including backups, disaster recovery, patching and maintenance windows
• Working with vendors/partners on complex incidents and escalations
• Keeping documentation accurate: diagrams, asset records, runbooks and knowledge articles
• Communicating clearly with customers and internal teams, setting expectations and timelines

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years in an Infrastructure / Systems / Network Engineer role (MSP or multi‑site environment preferred)
• Strong experience with:
• Windows Server (AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
• Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper‑V / Proxmox)
• Networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls)
• Backup and DR solutions
• Microsoft 365 and Azure (hybrid environments, identity, migrations)
• Confident troubleshooting and problem‑solving under pressure
• Professional customer communication and solid documentation habits
