An established and growing business based in Broxburn is looking to recruit a hands-on Plant Fitter / Maintenance Engineer to support the ongoing maintenance of machinery, equipment, vehicles, yard operations and warehouse facilities. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is comfortable getting involved across both machinery maintenance and general site upkeep.

The Role

  • Maintaining, repairing and servicing plant, machinery and site equipment
  • Carrying out general maintenance around the yard, warehouse and wider site
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs where possible
  • Supporting with preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Ensuring machinery, tools and equipment are safe and fit for use
  • Assisting with improvements across the yard and operational areas
  • Working closely with the wider team to support day-to-day operations

The Person

We are looking for someone with a strong mechanical background who is practical, reliable and happy to turn their hand to different tasks. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanic, Maintenance Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, HGV Mechanic or similar
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability
  • Experience working with machinery, plant equipment or commercial vehicles
  • A hands-on attitude and willingness to support across the yard and warehouse
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • A reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Welding, fabrication, hydraulics or electrical experience would be beneficial but not essential
